Hi, I'm Terra — the creator of The Yellow Folder Collection and a Master Certified Life Coach through the Certified Life Coach Institute.
But this story began long before the certification.
My Story
My husband and I married in 1997. We married young, became parents young, and had to learn how to become adults while trying to remain husband and wife. Along the way, our marriage endured betrayal, financial turmoil, family interference, deep disconnection, two lengthy separations, and seasons when love felt entirely absent.
But God.
What I'm sharing with you is not meant to be taken as a formula, a promise, or a blueprint for how your own story will unfold. Some stories end differently. I cannot promise a restored marriage or tell another person what their outcome will be. I would never use my story to ask someone to remain in an unsafe situation or suggest that having enough faith guarantees a particular ending.
My story is simply my testimony: with God, all things are possible.
I believe He is still performing miracles today. I also believe that real, lasting, from-the-inside-out change is God's business.
Where the Yellow Folder began
In 2018, during our second separation, I did not know whether our marriage would survive. My world had exploded, and I went looking for God.
I wasn't looking for an easy answer or pretending that one Bible verse would make everything stop hurting. I needed something solid enough to stand on while I waited—one moment, one hour, one day at a time.
I began with . Then I kept going.
I filled an ordinary yellow folder with Scripture, sermon notes, prayers, journal entries, and truths I desperately needed to remember when fear was louder than faith.
The folder did not give me control over the outcome. It helped me return to what was true:
God was present.
God was trustworthy.
And while my circumstances changed from day to day, God did not.
The Yellow Folder did not save my marriage. God did work in us that neither of us could have accomplished alone. The folder gave me a daily practice — a way to seek God, listen, read, write, and return to truth when I could not yet see an ending.
Nothing about The Yellow Folder is theoretical. The voice you will hear in the audio reflections is mine. The person you see on this site is me. The practice is something I actually lived.
The Yellow Folder was not created as a brand concept. It was an ordinary folder I carried through an extraordinarily difficult season.
The practice wasn't created for a website.
The website was created to share the practice.
Why I'm here now
That season taught me how much it matters to have something tangible to return to — and to have someone beside you who will listen without rushing you, trying to fix you, or offering easy answers.
The Yellow Folder Collection is for people navigating seasons they did not choose: the phone call, the loss, the fear, the uncertainty, the waiting, or the life that suddenly looks nothing like the one they expected.
Here you'll find free audio reflections, Scripture, prayer, and practical tools designed to help you steady yourself, find your footing, and take your next manageable step.
Sometimes a resource is enough. Sometimes what we need is a conversation.
Through Companion Sessions, I offer a calm, private place to slow down, be heard, and discover what your next meaningful step may be. My professional coaching training gives structure to this work, but its heart was formed through faith, lived experience, and years of walking beside people I love through difficult seasons.
Companion Sessions are not therapy, and I am not a therapist, pastor, counselor, or theologian. My goal is to support you with care and honesty, while honoring the scope of my training and lived experience. I will listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and walk beside you without forcing the pace of your journey.
My Christian faith is the foundation of this work, and I will never hide that. But you do not need to believe exactly what I believe — or even know what you believe — to be welcome here. You may take what helps and leave the rest.
I don't know how your story will end, and I will never pretend that I do. What I believe is that God can meet you within it.
My hope is that these resources help you return to what is true, find your footing, and perhaps discover that God is closer than you ever imagined.
You're not alone.
There is hope.
And God is still faithful.
— Terra
